The Journal

Published by the institute since 1988, INRAE Productions Animales is a peer-reviewed French-language scientific journal that publishes articles of synthesis (bibliographical syntheses or syntheses of experimental results with their possible applications) aimed at a wide audience: researchers, teachers and students, but also professionals in animal husbandry, nutrition and health. It aims to transfer knowledge for all species of zootechnical interest (herbivores, monogastric and fish).

It covers all the disciplinary and thematic fields of animal production: basic disciplines (nutrition and food, physiology, pathology, ethology, genetics, etc.), breeding techniques and systems, product quality, food safety, economics of production and supply chains, relations between breeding and the environment, territorial approaches, etc.

The journal publishes 30 to 40 articles per year divided into 5 issues, some of which may be devoted to a particular theme in the form of a dossier or a special issue. The journal is indexed in international databases, in particular the "Web of Science" in categories "Agriculture, Dairy & Animal Science" and "Veterinary Sciences".
